Specialist Physician, Rheumatology Fellow, South Africa
As a rheumatology fellow currently based in Cape Town, my primary focus lies in the intricate realm of interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) complicating our CTD'S. I have recently completed an MMed, where my research delved into the distinctive characteristics of ILD patients at a tertiary hospital in Cape Town. I have also worked on an editorial published with regards to ILD nomenclature. I am currently working on two projects, one of which explores the nuances of progressive pulmonary fibrosis, shedding light on its complex nature and implications for patient care. Beyond this, I am actively involved in a study that meticulously describes the interface between interstitial pneumonia with autoimmune features (IPAF) and connective tissue disease-associated ILD (CTD-ILD). Through these endeavors, I aspire to advance our comprehension of CTD associated ILDs and foster improvements in multi-disciplinary approaches for our patients grappling with these challenging Rheumatological disorders.
